The Challenge

Prior to adopting Field Materials AI, Cris—Accounting Manager and Assistant Controller—relied on a fully manual process to handle invoices. Each invoice had to be downloaded from the email inbox, printed, and entered line by line into the Viewpoint Vista ERP. The dependence on paper slowed down the process and made it difficult to track invoice status, leading to clutter and inefficiencies.

The invoice process was time-consuming, repetitive, and lacked the scalability and transparency needed for growth.

“There were piles of paper everywhere, and everything had to be typed in manually. There was no easy way to see where we were in the process.” said Cris.

The Solution

To modernize its accounts payable workflow, McMillan Electric adopted Field Materials’ invoices module. Field Materials AI automatically downloads invoices sent to the AP email inbox, matches them to the correct POs and packing slips (3-way match), and auto detects invoice issues.
