The Challenge

Chris Amido, Aztec Masonry’s Materials Coordinator, juggles everything from procurement to safety to project management. But their materials process was all manual—and it was quickly becoming unsustainable. Chris got orders from field crews by phone or text, then emailed suppliers to schedule deliveries. When materials showed up, foremen sent Chris packing slips by text, and the accounting team dropped off printed invoices at Chris’s desk. He’d then have to type each invoice into a spreadsheet, match it to the right ticket, and approve it for payment. Keeping track of what was ordered, delivered, and billed meant Chris had to dig through messages, spreadsheets, emails, and piles of paper. With all these tasks handled manually, things slipped through the cracks as the workload grew.

“Field Materials has taken a process that used to be overwhelming and helped me stay on top of orders, invoices, and everything in between — without letting things fall through the cracks.”

The Solution

Since Aztec Masonry adopted Field Materials AI, the field team submits all orders via the FM mobile app. Chris is notified and able to quickly review the field requisitions and make any necessary changes before submitting the orders to suppliers. Once suppliers deliver the orders, foremen take photos of the packing slips using the FM mobile app. The AI then automatically matches the packing slips to the corresponding order, helping Chris avoid all the manual paper-based verification he used to face. Now, Chris can adjust or approve orders in real time and match documents in seconds, not hours.

On the invoicing side, Field Materials helps Chris quickly find and sort invoices by supplier—no more digging through piles of paper. What used to take a week now gets done in a day. With Field Materials making due dates clear, Chris can stay on top of payments, hit deadlines, and juggle more tasks as the workload grows.
