The Challenge

Before adopting Field Materials AI, the procurement process at Gunfire was slow and fully relying on manual data entry. When requesting materials, field teams started by filling out an Excel form. Then, they had to email the form to the purchasing team in the office who re-entered the data into Microsoft Access. Purchasers then emailed orders to suppliers and logged all confirmations by hand.

Once Gunfire received supplier invoices, the purchasing team had to manually match them to the correct orders and then physically deliver them to accounting. With hundreds of orders each month, this process was both inefficient and prone to errors.

The manual nature of the old system left too much room for human error. Invoices had to be cross-checked against orders in a separate software. There was no visibility into budgets, no way to track spending in real time, and no single source of truth.

The Solution
