Field Materials AI completely simplified the process, from quotes to purchase orders, invoicing, and receiving material in the field. We love how everything’s all in one place!

Considered one of the top structural steel contractors nationally, Building Zone Industries (BZI) is headquartered in Kanarraville, Utah. Their purchasing team handles everything procurement related - requesting quotes, creating purchase orders, processing AP invoices. With its constantly growing volume of jobs, BZI recognized that continuing to handle procurement manually was not scalable.
There wasn't much visibility before. You had to go search for a certain area of the building, a certain vendor folder. Our process was all over the place.
Before Field Materials AI, BZI relied on email, spreadsheets, and project folders to manage its material procurement. The purchasing team sent quote requests by email. Once they received the supplier quote, they created a commitment in Procore and then filed all related records in a shared project folder. Melyssa maintained a separate spreadsheet to track purchase orders. She logged order details, statuses, and delivery dates by hand.
The information about purchase orders was scattered across emails and project folders. Anyone on the project team that needed to find out the status of an order had to search in different places for it. Field teams had little clarity on what was ordered and where it was delivered.

Field Materials AI enabled BZI to quickly streamline their material procurement process with AI native automation. The purchasing team now requests e-quotes from vendors using the Field Materials quotes module. Once vendors provide pricing information, purchasing instantly creates a cost coded purchase order (PO) from the e-quote. For some vendors that still prefer to send quotes as PDF files over email, Melyssa and the team no longer need to manually enter the data into Procore. They simply drag and drop into Field Materials the quote PDF and the AI agent reads and interprets the quote to instantly create an itemized PO that is automatically exported to Procore.
Once orders are delivered on jobsites, foremen use the mobile app to capture photos of delivery tickets. This is of tremendous help to the purchasing team because the AI agents now automatically match the delivery ticket to the corresponding PO and pre-fill received quantities to help track what has been received versus ordered.
Finally, as supplier invoices come in, the purchasing team relies on the AI to automate the 3-way match and verify the invoice accuracy.

It's all handled in one place. The team can see it all together - it's much, much better visibility!

By replacing a manual, scattered procurement with AI automation, Field Materials has empowered BZI to be well prepared for its growing volume of jobs.
